Quinta do Ameal Loureiro Vineyards in Vinho Verde

Located in the Vinho Verde demarcated wine region, Quinta do Ameal is a historic property with records dating back to 1710. It is unique not only because of its beauty, but also due to its location in the Lima sub-region, birthplace of the Loureiro grape variety.

Throughout the years, Quinta do Ameal remained true to its origins, standing out due to its sustainable agriculture practices and for bringing new perspectives to the Vinho Verde wine region. Thus, it has become a pioneer in establishing the capacity of the Loureiro variety to produce high quality white wines with great ageing potential.

The property extends along 800m of riverbank on the Lima River, covering approximately 30 hectares, 14 hectares of which are occupied by the Loureiro vineyards and 8 hectares of forest with a large variety of trees, such as walnut, chestnut and pine trees, supporting biodiversity in the area.
