Maison Piron Brouilly 2023
Brouilly is the largest and arguably the most beloved of the ten Beaujolais Crus, known for producing wines that balance the region's signature bright Gamay fruit with a greater sense of structure and depth. The Maison Piron Brouilly captures this balance perfectly, delivering a wine of immediate charm that also promises rewarding complexity. Hailing from the rolling hills surrounding Mont Brouilly, the vineyards benefit from diverse soils, including pink granite, which imparts a wonderful minerality and finesse to the finished wine. The Maison Piron Brouilly has an intense and inviting nose that explodes with aromas of dark cherry, ripe plum, and subtle floral notes of peony and crushed rose petal. The palate is supple and silky, offering layers of red and black fruit. It is medium-bodied with fine, gentle tannins that add definition without being aggressive. The finish is long, fresh, and slightly mineral-driven. While delicious now, this Brouilly has the structure to evolve gracefully over the next 3–5 years.
