Santadi | Sardinia

Santadi is one of the jewels of the Mediterranean paradise of Sardinia, the small Cantina di Santadi co-operative owes much of its success to the invaluable consultancy of Giacomo Tachis, the man behind the great reds of Antinori in Tuscany. Santadi (as it is now more commonly referred to) was established in 1960, and after some initial start-up difficulties, the winery embarked on an ambitious programme to centre its operations on producing quality bottled wines, primarily from the local red grape variety, Carignano. The result is some of Sardinia's most impressive wines which are now widely acclaimed, especially the illustrious Terre Brune.
