Wine By Grape Variety | Montepulciano
Montepulciano is a red wine grape variety that performs best in the Abruzzi wine region Italy where it is best known for the red wine Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. It is also grown to a lesser degree in the Italian wine regions of: Puglia, Marche, Lazio, Campania and Molise. In the Abruzzi region it produces wines that are very deep in colour with red cherry and herbal notes. They can be either light to full bodied, full of fat luscious fruit with soft tannins, or made in a much firmer, more tannic style.
