Wine By Grape Variety | Vidiano
Vidiano is a white grape variety coming from Crete and used to produce dry white wines, sometimes aged in oak. Producers agree on the tremendous quality potential Vidiano has to offer and as such has been introduced to commercial production over the last decade not only across Crete but mainland Greece as well.
Wines made from the Vidiano grape tend to offer a more textural style, rather than exploding aromatics. On the nose there are aromas of stone fruits, flowers and, occasionally, sweet herbs. On the palate, Vidiano has a medium to high alcohol content, a creamy, mouth coating texture, balanced by the medium to high acidity.
