Yering Station 'Little Yering' Pinot Noir 2021
Yering Station was the first vineyard in Australia's Victoria State, with vines being first planted in 1838 by Scottish-born Ryrie brothers. Almost 200 years on, Yering Station flourishes and they have become an icon of the region. Grapes for the "Little Yering" Pinot Noir come from a combination of estate-grown grapes planted in vineyards in Yarra Glen, Yering and Coldstream and additional grower fruit that comes from a very cold site in Mount Alexander. Little Yering Pinot Noir was made in a soft and approachable style. The grapes were fermented in a combination of open fermenters at controlled temperatures using selected yeasts to retain the purity and freshness of the cool-climate fruit. Following fermentation, the wine was matured in stainless steel tanks to retain the pure Pinot Noir characters. Rich and soft with vibrant, plush flavours of juicy cherries and pomegranate, along with a savoury and spicy lift. This is cool-climate Pinot in a silky, approachable style.
