Luis Seabra Granito Cru 2021
Granito Cru Alvarinho Vinho Verde showcases perfectly the intensely terroir-driven style of wine Luis Seabra crafts. He works exclusively with spontaneous fermentation, native yeasts, and large format tight-grained oak (Slovenian and Hungarian). Rather than a single vineyard, Granito Cru is a single soil Alvarinho, sourced from carefully selected small parcels of Alvarinho intended to express the terroir and wines sense of place. Fermentation and ageing took place in oak. Full malolactic fermentation was carried out during 4 months and then total ageing in the oak barrels took 9 months in the presence of lees without stirring them. On the nose, aromas of lemon peel, green apple, lemongrass and seashells. The palate is rich and rounded with laser-focused acidity. Incisive flavours of lemon, unripe peach, green apple, green mango are at the core, with focused mineral notes.
