Viña Pérez Cruz Chaski Petit Verdot 2014

The Viña Pérez Cruz 'Chaski' takes its name from the Inca word for the messengers that carried correspondence throughout the empire. The ruins of one of the stone houses the Chaskis used was found on the hill the estate lies on. The wine is made from 100% Petit Verdot grapes which are all hand picked and hand sorted prior to fermentation. Ageing takes place in French oak (50/50 new and used) for 14 months.

Complex and elegant aromas of ripe red fruits, herbs, black pepper and a hint of spice. The palate is well structured, fresh and balanced, with soft tannins and mineral notes. This is a great example of a Petit Verdot with its long and persistent finish.
