The Owl & The Dust Devil - Augmented Reality For Wine

Finca Decero is a single vineyard estate that was launched in 2008 and since when has gone on to achieve critical acclaim for its small, focussed portfolio of 5 high quality red wines. Decero, meaning ‘from scratch’ consists of one hundred hectares of vineyard newly planted in 2000 at 1050 metres above sea level, alongside a new state of the art winery. The vineyard is in Agrelo, a micro-region located at the foothill of the Andes and it is one of the most distinguished regions of Luján de Cuyo. In this microclimate, bunches mature slowly until they reach full ripeness and achieve great tannic concentration which provides structure to wines. Thomas Schmidheiny (Swiss owner) has a world class vision and this is demonstrated throughout every aspect of the vineyard and winery. The emphasis here is very much on sustainability, the vines are all hand-tended (not even tractors are used), minimal treatment and precision viticulture for optimum fruit quality.

The Owl & The Dust Devil is a single vineyard red wine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Tannat grapes grown in the unique Remolinos Vineyard. Matured for 18 months in French oak barrels, the Cabernet gives the wine backbone and structure which is supported by the aromatics and silky profile of the Malbec. Petit Verdot and Tannat provide not only a rich core to the wine but also depth of character and flavour for superb ageing potential.

The Owl & The Dust Devil label also introduces the world's first APP that combines a short animation film with augmented reality for a wine. You can now experience the beauty of the Remolinos Vineyard on your smartphone. See the video below...
