Vietti Roero Arneis 2023
Grapes for the Vietti Roero Arneis are sourced from vineyards in the municipality of Santo Stefano Roero in the Roero Arneis DOCG. The area is influenced by the proximity of the Alps, where cool air is drawn down from the mountains and the diurnal temperature differences help the vines to retain balancing acidity and slowly build intense aromatic profiles from the long hang-time. At the winery fermentation took place at a very slow pace to maintain the fresh and fruity flavours, in steel vats at controlled temperatures. Halfway through the fermentation, the tank was hermetically sealed in order to reabsorb a small amount of natural CO2. The wine did not undergo malolactic conversion, retaining balancing crispness and it remained on its lees until bottling. An aromatic Arneis showing delicate floral notes, with citrus and melon fruit and mineral overtones. Beautifully textured with balancing freshness and an elegant almond note on the finish.
