VIK 2019
VIK is a remarkable visionary Bordeaux style red wine blend, which stands out for its extraordinary evolution and ageing and is the ideal wine for collectors of great wines. VIK is the estates top wine and comes entirely from vineyards planted in 2007 in the most wind-exposed areas near the back of the estate in the Millahue zone of the Cachapoal Valley. These vineyards are in cooler sectors that give rise to fruitier wines with more acidity. In this vintage, VIK is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (77%) and Cabernet Franc (23%). To the nose, fresh ripe red fruits and spices unfold in the glass, delivering an aromatic complexity that awakens the senses. The palate is elegant and structured typical of Cabernet Sauvignon, with velvety tannins. Aging in French oak barrels gives it a unique liveliness, with notes of dried fruit and a subtle touch of mocha. VIK is a red for cellaring, with solid structure and powerful, complex flavours.
