Willett Pot Still Reserve Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon
The Willett Distillery was founded by Thompson Willett in 1936 on the family farm in Bardstown, Kentucky. Having been mothballed and fallen into disrepair, the distillery was renovated and reopened in 2012 under the stewardship of Even and Martha Kulsveen, Thompson Willett's daughter. The family now produce a range of high quality Bourbon and Rye whiskies under the Willett family name as well as Rowan's Creek, Noah's Mill, Johnny Drum and Old Bardstown labels. With its debut in 2008 the Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon is beautifully presented in the signature pot still shaped bottle and fashioned using the original still blueprints. Very floral on the nose with wonderful citrus notes. More citrus is found on the palate with plenty of honey and then turning quite herbal on the finish. It displays an incredibly different and inviting array of aromas and flavours when water is added.
