La Taille aux Loups Vin de France Bretonniere 2017
La Taille aux Loups Clos de la Bretonniere Vin de France is a pure Chenin Blanc sourced from a unique 4 hectare vineyard grown on Vouvray's renowned 'Premiere Cote', where the appellations finest wines come from. Owing to a dispute with the INAO, as of the 2014 vintage these wines can no longer carry the name Vouvray as they are vinified in Montlouis at Jacky's domaine. Though the label calls them Vin de France, the wine in the bottle is of course all Vouvray. This smells wonderful straight out of the blocks, honey and crushed rocks, grapefruit and peach. On the palate, great focused intensity, electric acidity and honeyed lime juice and limestone. Palpable extract and a long finish. Very bright and pure. This is ultra-vivid Vouvray, from a cool vineyard, that should go on for another decade.
