G d'Estournel is crafted with the same dedication and expertise as the wines of Cos d’Estournel and Pagodes de Cos and is the perfect introduction to the world of Cos d’Estournel for lovers of great wines. Known as Goulée by Cos d’Estournel then renamed G d’Estournel from the 2019 vintage, this wine is generous and bold. Assertive, elegant and stylized, the gold-colored label unveils the elephant, the historical symbol of Cos d’Estournel, which majestically embodies the oriental inspiration that prevails at Cos and that was dear to its founder, nicknamed in his time “the Maharajah of Saint-Estèphe”. This vintage of G d’Estournel is predominately Merlot (86%) alongside Cabernet Sauvignon (13%) and Cabernet Franc (1%). It delivers vivacity and balance, at once it is fresh and rich, vigorous and discreet. Vibrant and highly spirited, with unmistakable notes of pepper, it is a long, silky wine, whose nose of blackcurrant and violet is highlighted by aromas of eucalyptus, thyme and rosemary.
