Vignamaggio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Riserva di Monna Lisa 2017
Villa Vignamaggio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Riserva di Monna Lisa is the estates finest red wine named in honour of Leonardo da Vinci's muse, Mona Lisa, who it is said was born at the estate in 1479. Produced only in the best years the wine is a blend of Sangiovese (85%) alongside portions of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%). After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged partly in French oak barrels for 18-20 months and partly in larger barrels. The minimum aging is 30 months, of which at least 3 in the bottle. The final wine is a deep ruby red in colour with an intense nose of wild berries and a hint of oak. The palate is concentrated, smooth and silky. This is a wonderful red wine that oozes class and elegance.
