Staete Landt Annabel Sauvignon Blanc 2023
The Staete Landt 'Annabel' Sauvignon Blanc is a great example of the grape produced from small selected parcels grown in the superb Marlborough wine region. Each parcel of Sauvignon Blanc is harvested separately, providing an array of different flavours and structure. The first picks offer the hallmark Marlborough herbaceous notes and crisp acidity that combine elegantly with the concentrated rich tropical fruit of the later picks. Just as each parcel is treated differently in the vineyard, the fruit is handled differently in the winery for the ‘Annabel’ Sauvignon Blanc. The different Estate parcels of fruit were fermented using various yeast strains in order to emphasise the differences in fruit flavours and aromas. The ripest grapes are whole bunch pressed to retain delicacy and elegance. Blending these different parcels results in a complex and intensely aromatic Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of passionfruit, nectarines and gooseberries, great balance and lingering mineral finish.
