Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 2012

Champagne Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Vintage Brut is made exclusively with Chardonnay sourced from the 5 Grands Crus villages on the Côte des Blancs: Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger. This unique terroir is a strip of land measuring barely 20km and contains thousand-year-old chalk on its surface, creating a real oasis of water and warmth. Being the most perfect expression of the Taittinger House style, a bottle of Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is rare. Until its peak, it is subject to a great deal of care and attention and the rigorous criteria governing its production means that it cannot be created in large volumes. 5% of the wines which help to create the Comtes de Champagne are matured for 4 months in oak barrels (one-third of which are renewed each year) to boost the intrinsic qualities of the final blend and provide a hint of toasted flavour. The celebrated bottles only see daylight after a long and drawn-out maturing period 18 metres underground lasting 8 to 10 years. A beautiful golden shimmer through colours of straw yellow and reflections of gold and a fine, delicate mousse that creamy and captivating. The nose is mature, voluptuous and yet fresh and bright. It exhales delicious notes of gingerbread, liquorice and meringue with delicate white fruit, mandarin peel and subtle touch of almond pastry. There is also great mineral power: dense and rich with the Chardonnay flexing its iodine character.

Delivery Times

We aim to to have your delivery with you within 5-7 working days of receiving your order, but often it can be much sooner. If you need your order by a certain date please get in touch and we'll do our best to get it to you as required.

Vintage Availability

We endeavour to display accurate and current vintages on all our wines listed on the website; however, from time to time stocks of the vintage listed do become exhausted. If this is the case with your order we will always contact you to recommend another vintage of the same wine, if it is still available. If the vintage of a wine is important to you then please leave a note at checkout advising us of this.

Stock Availability

As we are retail stockists, selling from our Ledston shop as well as online, it makes it difficult for us to show a 'real-time' inventory of our wines and spirits online. As such, very occasionally, a wine may be out of stock that the website has allowed you to order.

To ensure a timely delivery, we are happy to substitute your order with a similar wine of equal or higher value and at no additional cost to you!

If this is not an acceptable solution please advise us in the 'Add A Comment' section at the checkout.

The house of Champagne Taittinger amidst vineyards

Taittinger remains one of the few Champagne Houses to be owned and actively managed by the family named on the label. The origins of the house date back to 1734 when it was originally founded by Jacques Fourneaux; however, the Taittinger link was only established in 1931 when Pierre Taittinger,...
