Luigi Pira Barolo Margheria 2017
The Barolo Margheria is the oldest cru of Cantina Luigi Pira with vines now over 50 years old. The 1.5 hectares of vineyard are planted in a calcareous-clayish soil, with western exposure, in Serralunga d'Alba. They give a classic and elegant Barolo, which is ready to drink a few years after release. The wine is aged in large wooden barrels for 24 months. Beautiful garnet red in colour the Barolo Margheria has a very intense and complex nose with notes of fruit and flowers and hints of leather and fresh hay. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, elegant, with pleasant tannins that are typical of the Nebbiolo grape. Pira's Barolo Margheria is the perfect balance between tradition and innovation.
