Vietti Barolo Cerequio 2019
The grapes for this Vietti Barolo come from the historic Cerequio vineyard, one of the most significant Crus in the entire Barolo winegrowing region. The one-hectare plot is located in the municipality of Barolo, situated at around 320 metres above sea level, with a southern exposure which is ideal for capturing the afternoon summer sun and achieving excellent maturity. The plot is cultivated sustainably and the vines are hand-harvested in October. At the winery the grapes were gently pressed. Malolactic conversion took place in oak and the wine was matured for 32 months in Slavonian and French oak casks. It was bottled without filtration. An elegant and superbly balanced Barolo Cru showing finesse and structure with strawberry, plum, cherry and rose petal aromas, through to a full, complex and harmonious palate with a balsamic note on the finish.
