France | Saint-Julien, Bordeaux
The commune of St Julien is smaller than any of the other three classic Médoc appellations - St-Estèphe, Pauillac or Margaux. Although St-Julien has no First Growths or 5th Growths it does have 11 crus classés in the middle of the classification which justifiably enables the commune to claim that it is the most consistent of the Médoc appellations, with several châteaux turning out impressive wines year after year.
These quintessential clarets have a vivid colour, elegant fruit, superb balance and great finesse.
