Akarua Bannockburn Central Otago Pinot Noir 2019

The 2019 Akarua Bannockburn Pinot Noir from Central Otago marks 20 vintages since its very first release from the 1999 season. It is a very special wine that comes from the beautiful Bannockburn vineyards on both Cairnmuir Road and Felton Terraces. Deep and bright ruby in colour, this wine has a complex nose of red plums, black cherries and vintage roses, with notes of wild thyme, brambles and crushed herbs. The palate structure is rich and concentrated, the acids are juicy yet fine, and the supple tannins enhance a long spice-laden finish of star anise, fennel seeds and Szechuan pepper.
