Since 2022, Quinta de Azevedo have produced fine wines from estate-grown fruit. Up until this point, the Quinta had worked extensively with local growers, while steadily increasing holdings to be able to have full control over fruit quality. This transition further shows the Guedes’ ongoing dedication to making the finest Vinho Verde wines. ‘Escolha’, meaning ‘Selection’ is partially aged in predominantly large format, used French oak to add texture rather than to mask the delicate flavours of the grapes. The nose is bursting with ripe stone fruit aromas of peach and apricot. The palate is fresh with ripe fruit flavours balanced with notes from oak ageing, providing creaminess and complexity. The finish is long and lingering.
