Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux 2012
Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux, along with Château Chasse-Spleen and Château Maucaillou, enjoys the best terroir of Moulis, the smallest of the communal appellations of the Médoc. Here, the soils mirror those to be found in certain plots of St Julien and St Estèphe - poor, well-drained, deep Garonne gravels - great Cabernet Sauvignon country. Deep ruby-garnet, this red offers a berried nose, with flashes of dark chocolate and mocha cream. The palate is similarly appetising, with ripe brambles, rose and violet notes allied to shades of herbs and delicate spice.
