Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Grapes for the Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon are sourced primarily from the Martin Stelling Vineyard, located behind the winery in Oakville. Planted on some of the most beautiful, gravelly loam soil in the Napa Valley, the vineyard uniformly produces wines with supple tannins, bright, forward fruit, and beautiful tannin structure. Aged for 17 months in French oak, of which 71% was new and 29% had been used once, the Far Niente Cabernet displays beautiful aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, cassis, liquorice and sweet anise, which are seamlessly underpinned by hints of lightly toasted oak. The silky, smooth palate with flavours of mixed berry fruit, oak spice, and sweet liquorice is well-structured and polished, with fine grain tannins that melt into a long mouthwatering finish.
