Inniskillin Niagra Estate Cabernet Franc Icewine 2022

Grapes for the Inniskillin Cabernet Franc Icewine are hand-harvested from selected vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake. This part of the Niagara Peninsula is considered a cool-climate viticulture region and the mineral-rich soils are the result of melting glaciers that left behind large and varied deposits of gravel, sand and clay, as they receded approximately 13,000 years ago. Thanks to the warming influence of Lake Ontario and the Niagara River, the region's temperatures during the fruit ripening phase are moderate and consistent. The grapes are picked at a freezing cold -10ºC and then pressed immediately, removing the ice crystals to leave a small amount of highly concentrated juice. There is an abundance of ripe red fruit aromas including strawberry, raspberry and rhubarb that dominate on the nose, while the concentrated red fruits also show through on the palate. This decadent Icewine boasts perfectly balanced sweetness and acidity on a long, lingering finish.

Find out more on our Delivery Page

Delivery Times

We aim to to have your delivery with you within 5-7 working days of receiving your order, but often it can be much sooner. If you need your order by a certain date please get in touch and we'll do our best to get it to you as required.

Vintage Availability

We endeavour to display accurate and current vintages on all our wines listed on the website; however, from time to time stocks of the vintage listed do become exhausted. If this is the case with your order we will always contact you to recommend another vintage of the same wine, if it is still available. If the vintage of a wine is important to you then please leave a note at checkout advising us of this.

Stock Availability

As we are retail stockists, selling from our Ledston shop as well as online, it makes it difficult for us to show a 'real-time' inventory of our wines and spirits online. As such, very occasionally, a wine may be out of stock that the website has allowed you to order.

To ensure a timely delivery, we are happy to substitute your order with a similar wine of equal or higher value and at no additional cost to you!

If this is not an acceptable solution please advise us in the 'Add A Comment' section at the checkout.

96 POINTS, EDITORS' CHOICE

July 1, 2020, Paul Gregutt

“A spectacular year for icewines, this exotic and beautiful wine—a stunning burnt-orange hue—boasts 244 g/L of residual sugar, yet is not a bit syrupy. Strawberry jam, blackberry pie, toffee, coffee gelato, cinnamon spice and more—the hits just keep on coming. One half-bottle, expensive though it is, will stretch for a half dozen sweet tooths as long as you take plenty of time to savor the lingering finish.”
