Justino's Madeira 10 Year Old Malvasia
The Atlantic Island of Madeira is situated 400 miles off the coast of North Africa and was discovered by the Portuguese navigator João Gonçalves Zarco in 1419. The first grape vines were brought to Madeira soon after. Early in the 15th Century the wine produced had such remarkable quality and unique character and taste, it soon became famous among aristocratic circles, especially the British court and Russian Tsars. Since then and throughout the centuries, Madeira wine has achieved acclaimed status all over the world. Produced only from the finest grapes grown on the island, Justino's Madeiras are made in strict accordance with traditional methods. Made from 100% Malvasia (Malmsey) grapes, dark chocolate and cherry aromas characterise the complex nose of this single variety Madeira. Sweet, soft and richly textured with plenty of character, the fresh, lifted acidity on the finish makes a great foil for the sweetness of the Malvasia.
