Quinta de Chocapalha Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
The Quinta de Chocapalha Cabernet Sauvignon flies the flag for non-indigenous varietals within Portugal. Sourced from the Lisboa wine region just north of Lisbon, the Cabernet Sauvignon grape clearly enjoys the terroir - producing a very poised, well-weighted translation of the grape. The ageing and malolactic fermentation occurred during 12 months in 60% new oak and 40% second year French oak barriques. Intense violet in colour the wine displays typical flavours of this grape with the traditional combination of spices and ripe fruit. On the palate shows a great balance with discreet acidity, red fruit and silky tannins. The aftertaste is long and very elegant.
