Sesti Monteleccio 2021

Sesti's Monteleccio is 100% Sangiovese sourced from vineyards at the heart of the Brunello di Montalcino wine region. The bottling is divided from the Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino in the cellar, where Elisa Sesti and her father, Giuseppe, decide which barrels hold the juice best suited for each bottling. Once the composition is decided upon it is aged in medium size oak barrels for 12 months. Derived from the Latin name for Montalcino, Monteleccio is a youthful, elegant expression of the Sesti Estate, whose wines are now widely acknowledged to be some of the finest that Montalcino has to offer. Ripe juicy cherries, rhubarb and a touch of mint, this is immediately accessible and delicious for drinking now.

Shipping Costs

Delivery is FREE on all orders over £165.00 to most UK Postcodes. Orders under £165.00 incur a £12.50 delivery charge. Our preferred courier is DPD and they charge us extra to deliver to certain postcodes in the Scottish Highlands & Islands.

If you live in one of these restricted postcode delivery areas the delivery charge is £20 for orders under £165.00. Orders £165 to £249 are subject to a £10 delivery charge. Orders over £250 are delivered FREE. If you are happy to proceed with an order including the stated delivery charges we will raise a separate invoice for the additional cost and email it to you. Find out more on our Delivery Page

Delivery Times

We aim to to have your delivery with you within 5-7 working days of receiving your order, but often it can be much sooner. If you need your order by a certain date please get in touch and we'll do our best to get it to you as required.

Vintage Availability

We endeavour to display accurate and current vintages on all our wines listed on the website; however, from time to time stocks of the vintage listed do become exhausted. If this is the case with your order we will always contact you to recommend another vintage of the same wine, if it is still available. If the vintage of a wine is important to you then please leave a note at checkout advising us of this.

Stock Availability

As we are retail stockists, selling from our Ledston shop as well as online, it makes it difficult for us to show a 'real-time' inventory of our wines and spirits online. As such, very occasionally, a wine may be out of stock that the website has allowed you to order.

To ensure a timely delivery, we are happy to substitute your order with a similar wine of equal or higher value and at no additional cost to you!

If this is not an acceptable solution please advise us in the 'Add A Comment' section at the checkout.

The Producer Sesti Castello di Argiano | Montalcino

Castello di Argiano Montalcino

Giuseppe Sesti is no ordinary winegrower. His background is astronomy and music rather than wine, but that didn’t stop him taking on the role of winemaker in chief at the 13th century Castello di Argiano, which he acquired in the 1970s. The moderate microclimate in this southern part of Tuscany...

Sesti Wine Tasting

We were honoured to spend several hours with the delightful Elisa at Sesti on a recent walking holiday in Tuscany and taste a range of her wines. The range starts with the Monteleccio. We bought a case from Hic in our return and fortunately its as good as the 2022 we tasted. All the wines are fantastic due to the care and attention that goes into their production. The white sauvignon was a nice surprise as well - not as minerally as a Sancerre but with good fruit. The Monteleccio is probably the best value for a red wine to accompany food.
