Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2012 New Release

With a history dating back over 125 years, La Rioja Alta, S.A. - widely recognised to be one of the finest wineries in the Rioja region - have just announced the release of a brand new Rioja Gran Reserva.

The new Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2012 is the first Gran Reserva to be released from the winery since the fabled 904 Gran Reserva in 1904.

La Rioja Alta is now the only winery in Rioja to boast three Gran Reserva’s. Following the 890 and 904 Gran Reserva's lead in meticulous winemaking and a traditional style, the Viña Arana Gran Reserva 2012 is slightly fresher and an absolute pleasure to drink now.

The Viña Arana Gran Reserva is a blend of 95% Tempranillo with 5% Graciano, sourced from 40-year-old vines. The parcels are vinified separately, aged in American oak for three years before blending and maturing another 3 years in bottle. Even after 125 years, Rioja Alta continues to innovate Rioja while keeping a firm grip on the traditional style wine consumers expect from the region.

Hic! is pleased to announce that the wine will be ready for delivery at the beginning of May priced at £35 per bottle and presented in its own beautiful individual gift box.
