Ridge Vineyards Geyserville 2020
Ridge has made Geyserville as a single-site zinfandel every year since 1966. The grapes are grown in three adjoining vineyards on a defined stretch of gravelly soil approximately one-and-a-quarter miles long and a half-mile wide. This iconic Zinfandel is actually a field blend composing of Zinfandel, Carignan, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet and Mataro. The most backward of the three Zinfandels, as usual, the 2020 Geyserville shows captivating fruit on the palate, with succulent strawberry/cherry fruit balanced by cocoa complexity. Its naturally fresh acidity is matched by a sumptuous texture while ensuring a long, resonant finish.
