France | Margaux, Bordeaux

Vineyards in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux

Situated to the south of the Médoc wine district is Margaux, perhaps the most famous of all the Bordeaux appellations. While it has a reputation for producing iconic wines such as Château Margaux and Château Palmer, it is also the largest and least consistent of the four classic Médoc appellations; the other three great Médoc AOCs being - St-Estèphe, Pauillac and St-Julien.

Margaux is unique in the Médoc as it is the only appellation that can boast vineyards in all five categories of the Bordeaux 1855 classification and the finest examples are exquisitely perfumed, refined and subtle which have few parallels in Bordeaux.
