Domaine de Beaurenard Châteauneuf-du-Pape Boisrenard 2017
The Domaine de Beurenard Châteauneuf-du-Pape is characterised by the diversity of its soils, with a mosaic of plots where different varieties grow together on limestone rock, round pebbles on a clay substrate with varying amounts of iron, and fine sedimentary sand. Made from old vines of between 60-100 years old, with very small yields, the Boisrenard undergoes lengthy vatting and is aged in an entirely traditional way: 18 months ageing in oak barrels, bottled unfined and unfiltered before a period of rest in the domaine's underground cellars before release. The Châteauneuf-du-Pape Boisrenard is characterised by the silky weave of its tannins and its generous fruit. A wine of immense depth.
