Leeu Passant Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Fruit for the Leeu Passant Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from vineyards on the cool slopes of the Helderberg Mountain and Polkadraai Hills. The Stellenbosch wine region is a natural home for Cabernet Sauvignon and this wine represents the distinguished elegance and balance that the grape can exude there. The grapes are fully destemmed then fermented with indigenous yeasts, prior to ageing in 500-litre barrels for 20 months. This aromatic Cabernet shows notes of cassis, tarragon, graphite and cedar on the nose. These continue on the palate which has a silky texture and great structure from the fine tannins. The richness and power of the wine are balanced by freshness and finesse. The finish is dry with lingering blackcurrant and blueberry flavours.
