Storm Ridge Chardonnay
2019 was the inaugural vintage for the Storm Wines Ridge Chardonnay which is sourced from a vineyard grown on a cool, eastern slope on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge with low-vigour, stony, clay-rich Bokkeveld shale soil. The Ridge Chardonnay is an elegant expression marked by restraint, length and minerality. This is a wine with crisp citrusy acidity, supported by 30% new French oak. Notes of pink grapefruit and pink pepper emerge with air and accent what is a lovely salty, linear, and focused Chardonnay with a softly textured finish.
