Tasca Cavallo delle Fate Grillo 2020
Grillo, which translates as "cricket," is a historical Sicilian white wine grape variety, initially made famous internationally through the production of Marsala wines, but it is also capable of producing dry white wines of incredible depth and concentration. At Tasca's Tenuta Regaleali estate in western Sicily the Grillo grape has been cultivated for years and for this wine Tasca harvests their vines at different periods to retain freshness and also lend structure that will carry the wine through extended bottle age. Pale straw yellow in colour, Tasca d'Almerita Grillo offers a broad range of bright fruit aromas from crisp citrus to white peach, tangy apricots, and exotic tropical fruit like pineapple. An elegant backbone of minerality carries the wine across the palate and leads into a long, balanced finish. Pair this wine with seafood pasta, cous cous, tuna and poultry or veal.
