Tenuta Campo di Sasso Sof Rosé 2018
SOF is the new rosé wine of Tenuta Campo di Sasso, envisioned by and dedicated to Sophia Antinori, the daughter of Marchese Lodovico. An equal blend of Cabernet Franc and Syrah grapes sourced from the San Giovanni vineyard situated on the gently sloping hillside in Bibbona, not far from the Tuscan coast of the Alta Maremma. After a careful sorting and de-stemming the grapes are gently pressed after a minimum maceration time. Throughout this brief period, winemaker Helena Lindberg, combining excellent technical knowledge with a gifted natural palate, assesses the juice in order to obtain the specific colour and taste desired by Sophia and Lodovico Antinori. The juice subsequently goes through the alcoholic fermentation in a temperature controlled stainless steel tank, whereafter it rests for five months prior to bottling. The wine is beautifully presented in a satin finished amphora shaped bottled and limited in production to just over 10,000 bottles. SOF has a lifted nose with floral and fruity notes, a creamy palate in fine balance with a refreshing acidity and a clean, lingering finish.
