TIMOROUS BEASTIE Highland Blended Malt Scotch Whisky - 70cl | 46.8% ABV
The original Timorous Beastie, immortalised in Robert Burns' famous Scots poem "To a Mouse", was a timid, little field mouse. Echoing the national bard's wit this Douglas Laing offering is most certainly not for the fainthearted! This non-chill filtered "vatted malt" is a marriage of Highland Malts - including amongst others those distilled at Blair Athol, Glen Garioch, Dalmore and Glengoyne Distilleries. The nose is overridingley sweet initially, then warming to floral, light barley & spicy honeyed tones. The palate opens in a spicy style, mellow, sugary and raisin-fudge-y. The finish is subtle yet sweet.
