Tournon Lady's Lane Vineyard Shiraz 2015
Lady's Pass is a historical location in Heathcote, where stage coaches used to pass over the Mount Camel Range. Planted in 2002, Tournon's Lady's Lane Vineyard is 4 hectares of dry-grown, organically farmed Shiraz, cultivated on nearly 500 million year old Cambrian soils - the finest in the world according to Chapoutier!
Grapes for the Lady's Lane Shiraz are all hand-picked and 100% de-stemmed before fermentation in concrete tanks. Matured for 14 months in oak (only 10-15% new), the wine has a very fresh nose with berry and spice characters. This is a powerful and generous wine expressing itself with delicacy thanks to the fine knit tannic structure. Intense flavours of ripe fruits and spices combined with a fine acidity – a balance between richness and strength reflecting perfectly the terroir of Heathcote.
