Cesconi Nosiola 2021
Cesconi's Nosiola, the only white grape variety native to Trentino, is planted on the edge of the woods on west-facing vineyards with vines that are now 30 years old on average. Some of the grapes were destemmed and macerated for four to five days until the cap was formed, at which point the fermenting must was joined together with the rest of the juice obtained directly from pressing the grapes. The fermentation continued in a mix of stainless-steel tanks and large acacia barrels to ensure some oak influence while retaining the fine, delicate aromatics of the Nosiola. The wine remained in contact with the lees for about nine months before being bottled at the end of the summer. This wine is fresh and lively on the nose with aromas of golden apple and hazelnut, which express its mountain origins. The palate is savoury but delicate; its moderate alcohol and high acidity enhance its depth and finish.
