Les Champs Libres 2022
Founded in 2013 by Julie and Baptiste Guineaudeau, Les Champs Libres was created with the desire to produce a great white wine on the 'Right Bank' of Bordeaux, utilising the same convictions the family adopt at Château Lafleur. Since its inception, Les Champs Libres has rapidly become one of Bordeaux’s most exciting, under-the-radar whites. Produced from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, the majority of which is an old clone from Sancerre (80%) with the balance a Bordeaux clone planted in the 1980s. Both fermented and matured in 90% new oak Les Champs Libres is a concentrated white wine that has been referred to as the 'Chablis of Bordeaux' by wine critic Julia Harding MW, owing to its firm acidity and mineral freshness. This is a truly fine white wine that will handsomely cellar for up to a decade.
