Massaya Cap Est 2018
Massaya’s Cap Est is a spectacular red wine that proves this ancient region can produce a wine to rival the best in the world. Grapes for the Massaya Cap Est come from a 7 hectare chalky site on the hillsides in the most north-easterly portion of the Beqaa Valley at an altitude of 1,200m, in the Ras Baalbek area. It is a blend of 50% Grenache and 50% Mourvèdre, which was matured in oak for 22 months and bottled without fining or filtering. The resultant wine is a distinctive pale ruby in colour with subtle aromas of violets and ripe red berry fruits. The palate is seductively velvety and elegant with finely balanced tannins highlighting the minerality of the terroir. A rare jewel that delivers both authenticity and great style and is perfectly suitable for medium to long term ageing.
