Bodegas Pujanza Norte 2018
Pujanza Norte is a unique single-vineyard Rioja of breathtaking quality. The Norte vineyard is in direct line with the winds from the north and sits on a terrain in which the limestone bedrock is only 50 centimetres below the surface. These two features, together with its elevation (720 metres), give Pujanza Norte notable freshness and acidity which are maintained one vintage after another due to the consistency of the vineyard. Matured for 12 months in French oak barrels and then a further 12 months in concrete vats, Pujanza Norte, is bright, intense cherry-red in colour. On the nose there are notes of wild berries, spices and well-integrated wood. Its minerality shows the influence of the lime soils from which it comes. The palate is full, with firm but not aggressive tannins. Powerful and lively, but at the same time showing great balance between body, acidity and alcohol. A fruity aftertaste, highly expressive and persistent.
