Dog Point Pinot Noir 2020
The Dog Point Pinot Noir is a bright, perfumed, supple expression of Marlborough Pinot Noir comprising six different clones of Pinot Noir from vines dating back to 1983. Hand-Picked and sorted the fruit is fermented in small stainless open top fermenters without pumping. Fermentation is conducted by indigenous yeasts over a period of 2-3 weeks prior to pressing into French oak barrels (40% new) for 18 months. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration. On the nose the wine offers a ripe spectrum of flavours lead by dark stone fruit and evident spice aromas. The palate is bold, with intense red and dark fruit. The use of whole bunch inclusion during fermentation adds a layer of dried herbs and floral notes. The wine has a rich and full palate structure, with fine grained tannins. A wine that will handsomely cellar for up to 10 years.
