House of Morandé 2017
The House of Morandé is an award winning Bordeaux style red wine blend from Viña Morandé. Sourced from the finest blocks of the San Bernardo property, located in the Maipo Alto region of the Maipo Valley, this is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon (77%) based blend complemented by the addition of Cabernet Franc (16%) and Carignan (6%). Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, the wine is fined with egg white and decanted for two months before being bottled unfiltered. Intense cherry red in colour the aromas offer fresh red and black fruits with a light touch of spice such as cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla that lend outstanding complexity. The palate is agile and expansive with great volume and flavour. The strength and elegance of the Cabernet Sauvignon lend it great character, while the Cabernet Franc contributes delicious tannins and dark chocolate and the Carignan freshness and sour cherry notes. Ideal with red meats, game, braises, and strong cheeses.
