Casa Ferreirinha Planalto Douro Branco Reserva 2020
The Casa Ferreirinha Planalto Douro Branco Reserva is a crisp and refreshing white wine made from a blend of indigenous grapes grown at altitude in the high reaches of the Douro ('Planalto' translates as “high plains”). The grapes for the blend were harvested by hand and selected for their balance between flavour intensity and freshness. At the winery each grape variety is vinified separately and after fermentation kept in stainless steel tanks for six months before the final blend was assembled. Lemon yellow in colour Planalto displays citrus and tropical fruit aromas alongside with subtle floral nuances and a touch of minerality. On the palate, the wine is crisp with a lively acidity balancing the concentrated fruit flavours and a clean, fresh finish.
