Casa Ferreirinha Quinta da Leda Tinto 2020

The Quinta da Leda Douro Tinto is a blend of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cão and Tinta Roriz grapes grown exclusively in Casa Ferreirinha’s flagship 'Quinta da Leda' vineyard, located in the far reaches of the Douro Superior, close to the border with Spain. Upon arrival at the Quinta da Leda winery, the hand-harvested grapes were fully de-stemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation took place in stainless-steel tanks and the varieties were co-fermented, though the grapes from the best sites began fermentation in robotic lagares with a day of pigeage. An extended post-fermentation maceration on the skins achieved optimum levels of extraction of colour, flavour and tannin. The wines were then aged for 18 months in 225-litre and 500-litre French oak barrels, around 50% of which were new. After numerous tastings and analysis, the final blend was assembled by Luís Sottomayor and the winemaking team and was lightly filtered before bottling. Quinta da Leda is a wine of great intensity, complexity and elegance. On the nose, aromas of ripe red and black fruits combine with spicy notes of cocoa and tobacco box and subtle floral notes. Full-bodied on the palate, with ripe and velvety tannins and a refreshing acidity which carries the complex flavours onto the lingering finish.

Delivery Times

We aim to to have your delivery with you within 5-7 working days of receiving your order, but often it can be much sooner. If you need your order by a certain date please get in touch and we'll do our best to get it to you as required.

Vintage Availability

We endeavour to display accurate and current vintages on all our wines listed on the website; however, from time to time stocks of the vintage listed do become exhausted. If this is the case with your order we will always contact you to recommend another vintage of the same wine, if it is still available. If the vintage of a wine is important to you then please leave a note at checkout advising us of this.

Stock Availability

As we are retail stockists, selling from our Ledston shop as well as online, it makes it difficult for us to show a 'real-time' inventory of our wines and spirits online. As such, very occasionally, a wine may be out of stock that the website has allowed you to order.

To ensure a timely delivery, we are happy to substitute your order with a similar wine of equal or higher value and at no additional cost to you!

If this is not an acceptable solution please advise us in the 'Add A Comment' section at the checkout.

The Primary Grape Wine By Grape Variety | Touriga Nacional

Organic vines in vineyard

Touriga Nacional is an indigenous Portuguese red wine grape variety considered by many to be Portugal's finest. Despite the low yields from its small grapes, it plays a big part in the blends used for ports, and is increasingly being used for table wine in the Douro and Dão. Touriga...
