San Giovanni della Sala Orvieto Classico Superiore 2020
Castello della Sala is located in Umbria approximately ten miles (18 kilometers) from the city of Orvieto. The San Giovanni della Sala Orvieto Classico Superiore is produced from grapes grown in the Castello della Sala vineyards and is blend of Grechetto and Procanico (native Italian grapes) alongside international grape varieties, Viognier and Pinot Blanc. The first vintage of this wine was the 1990 and it is intended as a new style and interpretation of Orvieto Classico. San Giovanni della Sala shows a light straw colour with greenish highlights. On the nose, pleasurable notes of tropical fruit fuse with light mineral sensations. The palate is noteworthy for its balance between structure and freshness, a fine savoury character, and an attractive persistence of flavours of yellow fruit.
